Olakino: Change as a Practice
An entirely new Happy Doc Program
May 29 - June 1, 2026
Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity
Banff, Alberta, Canada
Olakino - An optimal state of health and well-being
So much has changed for all of us since Happy Doc started seven years ago. We have lived through a pandemic, and it seems change, uncertainty, and increased need have become the constants in healthcare.
Preventing burnout and compassion fatigue in this new era involves embracing change and new strategies for resilience in the face of uncertainty.
Our newest CME program focuses on four concepts:
ADAPT
Change is inevitable
PERSEVERE
Sometimes slower than we’d like
SURVIVE
Life goes on regardless
THRIVE
We must find joy and purpose

Why Banff?
A successful retreat means a destination that will renew, invigorate, or inspire. The Banff Centre For Arts and Creativity hosts performers, writers, and other artists from around the world, so there's always something to see and do.
The centre itself is nestled within the Canadian Rockies, and the town of Banff is just a few minutes down the hill, with shops and restaurants - a great place to spend an afternoon.
Banff and the surrounding areas aer full out outdoor activities to enjoy as well.
Our schedule makes for plenty of free time to enjoy the area, so we chose a new area we thought you'd enjoy!
